The buttons on both sides are clearly designed and can be operated blindly with gloves. And there is a locking switch at the bottom to prevent accidental touching to turn on the visible light mode. Also designed with a multi-functional indicator light that blinks or stays on for eight seconds when the IR function is turned on, reminding the user to change the batteries when they are in a low battery state. One brand new AA battery (5#) supports 8 hours of long light high power mode and 80 hours of blinking mode.
The FMA Beacon Light has an integrated locking back clip that attaches to the Molle/PALs strap or belt. The included FLEX base can be mounted to a flat Velcro surface such as a helmet or tactical undershirt using the Velcro tabs on the bottom.
The FMA beacon light has three modes, IR invisible light flashing, IR invisible light long light, white LED flashing. With two power levels of high and low, a total of six modes.
FMA beacon light meets IPX8 waterproof rating, high-strength polymer nylon shell can work in harsh environments. The light is very compact and lightweight, weighing only 84g with FLEX base (excluding batteries).
